Sources through Chris Low at ESPN are reporting that Coach Phillip Fulmer is stepping down as the Head Coach of the Volunteers. This is somewhat a sad day for this blogger, but I feel like it is the right time for this move.
I have been a big critic of Coach Fulmer this year. I believe the criticism is merited, that however does not take away what this man has done for our University and our Football Program. He went about his business the right way, and I appreciate that. This week I will cover more on Coach Fulmer.
I pray that Coach Fulmer handles this with class, as he has with every thing in his career at the University of Tennessee. You are a true Big Orange Legend, and I thank you for every thing.
It is being reported on Volquest, that the conference will be held at 5:00 EST.
Beyond a shadow of a doubt, I will be there November 29th, with a teary eye and heavy heart as Coach Fulmer runs through the T for the last time.

I am happy. I understand why you would be sad, but a lot of us have waited for this for a LONG time. It’s time to turn the page of the Vol history books. New chapter time.
I get the feeling that Fulmer will do fine and is gracious for having been associated with UT for 30 plus years. I would like to see him heal old wound with Majors above all things.
You are happy because you didn’t really follow him through the great years, and don’t have that connection. Ziiiiiiiing!
It’s like losing a member of the family who has become terminally ill.
Great point Jim… I like that analogy. Thanks for posting man…
